human maintenance procedures cont.
Sep. 14th, 2018 06:25 pmThank you to people who were encouraging on my other Bodies Why post (and especially to
kaberett for good information.
I had an appointment with an orthopedics doctor person yesterday. The office was super busy and everyone was very rushed (of course), but the doctor actually explained things and listened, so I'll take it!
He said it looks like I have some "ligamentous laxity" which according to the internet is the orthopedics term for hypermobility, basically. It's relatively mild in my case, which I basically knew, and I didn't feel like I could ask too many questions because they were so rushed. But I have a referral for physical therapy, and he gave me a general referral that I can take anywhere, which is good because I have a choice but also bad because I have to make decisions and phone calls.
So I'm calling it a success. I'll get to see a PT person and fix my stupid shoulder, and it'll probably give me the chance to ask some more questions in a less stressful environment. Now I just have to figure out where I can go that's near home or work, and how many arms and legs I will have to sacrifice for insurance co-pays. (I hate this country's fucking excuse for a health care system I hate it so much)
I came home and accidentally napped for 2 hours afterwards, so I guess doctors really are exhausting.
